Safety Analysis Group - GAS

The Safety Analysis Group - GAS of the Department of Computing Engineering and Digital Systems of the Engineering School of University of São Paulo aims to do researches and projects related to safety, dependability and availability of Computing Systems applied mainly in critical areas such as subway and railway transportation, air transportation, petrochemical industry, nuclear power plants, medical systems, among others. In this way, have been studied in the GAS the aspects related to fault tolerance in computer systems, also covering the quality of software aspects.

It can be pointed out the methodology, safety, reliability, availability, testability and redundancy, aiming to improve the project quality. Another key aspect of GAS work is the certification of real time embedded software applied on areas that demands high reliability and / or safety systems. The GAS research topics are related to the study of techniques to the development and assessment of computer systems used in critical systems of high safety and reliability, getting a result of several master's and PhD theses in this specific area of knowledge.
